Mixed emotions. The past two weekends it has rained on Saturday. We are in a drought so the rain is welcomed. We are working on the project site, moving dirt, so the rain is not really welcomed. It seems we, as humans, are never really satisfied. :)
The rain has not been bad. It has not put a delay on any of the project's progress. The weather is hot, even for May. It has been in the upper 90's and humid. Our personnel trailer's air conditioning is finally operational. We have a generator that will run the power for the trailer but we have hooked up to the power. Propane is expensive and the generator is only for back up power. They had to bring another power line in as we were having problems with brown outs. That is not good for servers and other electronic equipment.
This weekend, as we were mostly fully operational, we finally got to do some data entry on the volunteers, tested the scanner (ID's) and printed some test ID badges. One of the geeks took a picture from my PC and used it as my photo on the ID Tag. As soon as I know who it is he will pay.
We had a meeting with the personnel that will be assisting us in the Volunteer department. It was a meet and greet, what to expect, what was expected. There were 22 in attendance but we expect more to join us in the near future.
You may be wondering, why are you talking (or typing), where are the pictures? Um...well, we were rather busy trying to get the department up and running. I will post some more pictures this week. I promise. :) I will keep my comments limited. :)
