Certifiable!

Got my certification to ride, yes, ride, not operate, scissorlifts and boom extensions. See the tags?! I was thinking of being certified to operate one...I may yet...if i get rid of my little fear of heights.
Notice the determined look on my friends face as he tackles the ribs!
And here is the meal de jour! RIBS!!! Anyone like grits?
Dining under the palm trees, that is the Valley way!! Weather is great..the winds blow softly...
Well, to get certified to be a "rider" on a boom lift it seems you have to go up on one. 35 feet was my maximum height. Next time, 40...yeah, I know...extreme photographer/photography..these things SWAY!!!
Now, more walls are to be built....my boom operator me I could see the interior from 60 feet!!! I declined his offer.
This is my personal boom operator....nice guy.
Painters on the sissor lift.
Part of our certification required that we go up on a scissor lift...they sway!!!
Our instructor...
This is the emergency off button...I think that was wa he said.
This is a scissor lift....... you will love your scissor lift....you will bond....
Gather round the blue thingy guys..by the time I am through..you WILL learn how to operate one!
Break time..this is the interior..lobby area
Another view..lobby

Remember these picture from yesterday..no curb..now curb
The class meeting with safety and our instructor. Safety brother is explaining that this class was cream of the crop! Finally got here!!
Can anyone guess what he is doing?
Sarah....smile......
Waiting for our instructor...like the army..hurry up and wait :)
Our class in the training area...watching the safety video. Interesting video...do you know what to do if your scissor lift dies while you are up 40 feet?? I DO!!!! SCREAM YOUR LUNGS OUT FOR HELP!!... I passed....
He is inviting me to come on up....once was enough!

Well, got my act together, took my final class and I am certified to go to new heights!! I will use these powers wisely. Never take a boom lift in a strong wind...(did I mention it sways...not a good feeling at 45, 50..or 60 feet), never take the scissor lift over 5 feet and get personal instructions from Sam H who has a company that considers these lifts small potatoes. He said if I really wanted to go to a higher height...he would take me for a ride on a real lift. He's funny. I am avoiding him for a while.

On a different note, what photographs would you like to see on the blog. Email your requests to tejano54@gmail.com.

hasta luego....
