Well, I finally found a place that has my size of shirt. Yup...all the way in Hawaii they have the Big Bruddah Shirt. I won't have to worry if I gain weight with this one!

Honolulu at night. This is looking SW. If it had not been for the rain/clouds the view would have been even more spectacular.

Another view of Honolulu at night. To get up here we took a winding road up a mountain. The road was trees and other vegation, very tropical. It was narrow and at times you could look to the side and see a drop off. I am glad I was not driving!

Dole's pineapple farm. If you come to Hawaii, you must come here. It is a beautiful place with salespeople anxious to sell you something with a pineapple. The grounds are immaculate, there is a maze and train ride. Oh, and pineapple candy, ice cream, floats, and many more items you could not have imagined that you could use a coconut for.

North Shore. The big waves are coming in and the surfers are beginning to arrive from all over the world. There are 30-40 foot waves. This is the expert class, not for beginners. Unless you have a death wish. Me? I was comfortable just watching from the shore.

The waves were so bad that no swimming was allowed. Just last week we swam here and it was calm.

Shoreline pic from a beach along the Kam highway.

Another pic of the sea and the mountains. You are driving along the shoreline and there is the sea on one side and the mountains on the other. You have to stop and look at the beauty and majesty of the mountains.

Scenic view from Diamond Head looking towards Koko Head.

Beach view at Wakiki.

Another Wakiki Beach view.

View of the Honolulu airport from my friends office. We will be leaving from this airport tomorrow night.

Ah...flight.

Picture of the harbor.
Well, only one day left of our vacation. Hard to imagine it was just 10 days ago we were on our way here! Time has flown. We have seen quite a bit of the island and if you ever want to come here ask me for advice. You have to take 10 days at least, there is too much to see and do.
Our next trip will be less traveling and more concentrating on one place.
Today, we drove to Wakiki and walked along the shoreline. This is where all the movie stars hang out. We did not see any, oh well. Then we drove to Diamond Head then took the highway to the north side. We drove the Pali Highway, one of the most scenic roads anywhere, there is another, H3 that is just as good or better.
We got the truck stuck at Sunset Beach and if it were not for the friendly folks there we would have had to call a tow truck. We drove the NW part of the island, went to the Dole plantation and then headed home. It was raining all the way, sometimes hard and sometimes just a drizzle.
We went out to eat downtown after going to a look out point where we could see the whole city from the top of a hill. Then shopping downtown. The town is alive with people shopping and gaawking all over the place. You have street musicians, artists and all sorts of things. Shopping. Do not bring your wives here as they will leave you broke. :) Actually, there are pretty good bargains to be had if you are patient.
Well, this is it for tonight. Tomorrow I will be posting from the airport as we leave.
Hasta Luego!
