I have some pictures to post, however, the internet here is slow. Even my wifi card is slow. DL should be fast..it's not. Upload...even worse. So, Until I return text will have to suffice.
Kentucky is really a beautiful state, hills, green, lots of green, friendly people and...NO LITTER. Every road I have traveled is void of trash. I saw a water bottle yesterday by the side of the road, that was the first trash I had seen since getting here. Texas can learn a lot from Kentucky. There is trash..but not to the extent I see back home.
We are in Russell County, KY. We went to the meeting in Burke, KY, a small congregation. We had a good time meeting the friends. We go back tomorrow for the mid week meeting.
Anyone here want to lend me a guitar? This is the state with bluegrass music no? There should be a guitar around here somewhere. I MISS PLAYING!!! I even know a bluegrass tune....
Service has been enjoyable. Lots of good calls, lots of placements. Have had to change my presentation as the people here have read their Bible and know it very well.
Every day a family takes turn cooking for the group. Yesterday we had BBQ'd pork. YUMM. Today, I BBQ'd chicken and sausage on a gas grill. Yes, a GAS grill. No choice, they do not have mesquite here. Sigh...and the Kielbassa sausage was not all that great. Texas has GREAT Kielbassa sausage.
Traveling to and in service we work the back roads. Have some pictures to show you. Scenery is amazing. I bought me a GPS that shows me what roads are coming up and where they lead to. Another toy...the vehicle icon was changed to a pickup truck, which is what I am driving.
Wal Mart. There is one about 7 miles from us. We have been to it several times, more than the one back home. Why is it that when you travel people head for the nearest Wal Mart??
My friend Bob Lamb has relatives here in SW Kentucky, I think his son may be here. Mammoth cave is here also. Wife, since we got married, made me promise I would take her to see this cave. I never thought I would be in this area. Saturday...that is where we will be. Perhaps I will make a short trip to visit Bob's relatives. Wonder if they make moonshine.....
The meal for tomorrow is curry......that should be interesting. Looking forward to it.
It has been raining on and off. Played some tennis yesterday. Am still in recovery, took a beating...6-0. Played against a young sister. The tennis balls were old, I did not have my racket, I have not played in over 2 years. There are the list of excuses why I did not win even one game. That said, she was better. I am looking for a rematch. Bought new tennis balls that have the proper bounce.
Ok, that is it for now. Hasta luego.
